Shopping for School Supplies

Saturday, July 11th.

Up early this morning to go shopping. Eric picked us up at nine and we went to the school supply store where we met Ernest and Francis. I spent my $1700, Diane her $700 and Brenda her $500 and we bought a pickup truck full of school supplies. The store was very crowded, narrow and full of other customers. It was chaotic but fun, and took about three hours with six or seven employees helping us. Glad to finally have gotten rid of the cash I was carrying around and to make another step towards fulfilling my goal. Then Eric took us to different beach hotel from last year, at the Ramada Hotel Resort, and we hung out there for the afternoon. The beach was dirty, the water rough with lots of rocks in the water, but it was nice to be by the ocean. We had an excellent lunch there but settling the bill was a challenge. Even though we told the waiter we wanted to separate team bills he messed it up and it took us almost a full hour to get it sorted. We invited Eric to eat with us as well and he loved that. Then back to the hotel for the afternoon so Eric could get ready for the early morning drive tomorrow. I went in the pool and relaxed there with Pascale, Vanda and Diane. I talked to an American woman who was there to provide funding to deserving students who could not afford to go to higher education. Then we had dinner, settled up our final bill, without incident and headed for bed.
